| News | 6 May 2009 - EUATC has been growing and strongly focusing on training and quality standards. The European Union of Association of Translation Companies met at its regular General Meeting in Antalya, Turkey. 19 representatives of national associations from 16 countries were present: the host Turkey, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Italy, Latvia, Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, Austria and Greece. The Czech association was represented by its president Lubos Skupnik and vice-president Petr Pasek. The meeting dealt with further focus on training and quality standards which strengthen the professional approach, quality requirements and active partnership of individual national associations. EUATC will also strive to establish cooperation with European universities with the goal to assist with the professional training of new translators and interpreters. Newly founded national associations in Switzerland and Latvia were introduced and Latvia was admitted as a regular member of EUATC. Another important issue was the discussion on proposals of a specific programme of the conference in Sofia, Bulgaria held on 15 and 16 October 2009. More news here... |
